At 07:16 PM 2/16/04 +0000, Mario Montijo pa grafo:

Ave! Karo ami Manuel e Panto ami glosa pe:

Mi pa lekto tu plu komenta e mi este grati. Grati.

A nu fu,

Mario Montijo Saluta Mario e holo plu neo Glosa uti-pe,

Prima, mi nece dice: uno-pe nece tenta fo forti te habe plu ero intra mu ge-grafo Glosa.

[Eng. Greetings Mario and all the new Glosa users, There is no way in which we long-time users can use bad language to describe the efforts of you new-comers. Firstly, I must say, one needs to try very hard to have errors in their written Glosa. Secondly, you freely give your time to the language, and so, we give you our congratulations.]

U mesage: Glosa nece gene apo id England-lingua-ge-basi komunita!
Place kontinu te akti so.

[Eng. While few of us speak Spanish, you give translation of your Glosa using this language .. or possibly 'broken' English when this is not your main language.
The message: Glosa needs to get away from its English-based community! You help the language to get to the whole world. The problem, of not getting to all parts of the world, is the problem for us long-term users: it is not your problem. However, you cause us to change our methods of promoting Glosa to include you in our community. Please continue to do so.]

Te es u facili lingua, pro plu gene-sko-pe, Glosa nece habe id regulari forma: solo kron id habe fo lati uti, pote id habe u ge-elide forma.

[Eng. In order to quickly get a feel for Glosa, I strongly suggest (that) you use - at the start - the full form of the language. Avoid the lazy methods of speaking, which use abbreviated language. One day, people will use elision in their Glosa (as people now do with English), and they will understand each other. But, for now, this future-fact about Glosa is incorrect usage for it. To be an easy language for learners, Glosa needs its regular form. Only when Glosa is invery wide use, caan it have an elided form.

Saluta, e Gracia a holo na uti-pe.

Robin Gaskell
