I know what a thesaurus is used for, but I don’t know what the authors of Longman used to determine importance of words they chose. How did they determine how common all words are? I don’t know if there is such a thing as a ‘cross-language thesaurus’ . I have never seen one. Even then, it would help to know the frequency of all words in most settings. But not only words - Phrases, meanings, sentences, idioms, everything. I found a project lately that was scanning books using OCR for that purpose (I guess for that purpose , at least partly). I forgot the name of it, it was a project on google, or by google, I don’t remember which.

singer - neo - qe kanta-pe ? sed, u-ci es ne maxi klari. posi ‘voka ergo-pe de kanta’. That’s long, so maybe kanta-pe isn’t so bad also. There are many related words (soni, voka, melodi). I thought of some phrases for ‘song writer’, and ‘voka ergo-pe’ is a ‘voice worker’, a person who could be a voice actor and radio announcer. But there can be phrases for those also.

sixth - sixa (sed ma..) stranger - posi neo pe, ne-ge-ski pe, pe qi es ne-ge-ski, depending on situation. (I guess xeno-pe (foreigner) is only intended for ‘out-of-country person’, …alo…u ne ben ge-ski pe (Mi sio uti ‘bene’…posi! … “strange” can also be used in a more general sense, e kaso u-la, mi sio uti “xeno”. (in that case i would use “xeno”.)

thinking - puta .. Mi du puta, Mi nu puta [de …]
