Congratulations Eike, There should be more of it. This looks as if you have employed your spare time well. Next week, when I have more time, I will sharpen up my brain, and revive my DOS skills to look at Glosastra on my W98 computer. I think you might have to simplify the instructions for some of us, who are more linguistic than cybernetic in our orientations.

However, for years, I've been saying that Glosa with its non-inflected structure is ideal for 'the machine handling of language'. And it looks like you've done it.

     Again Congratulations.

Saluta,

Karo glosa-pe,

I recently had some spare time, and created a new version of the GlosaReader program:

  • The basic functionality didn’t change, so you still copypaste some text into it and move the mouse over words to get translations
  • The lookup routine is now error-tolerant, e.g. it looks in the dictionary for the 20 best matching words (not only exact matches)
  • The lookup of words is delayed a short time, so you have the chance to move the mouse to the lower part of the program and inspect the looked up words
  • You can integrate the application into your webpages, showing a text of your choice

You find the new version here: http://www.eikepreuss.de/glosa/glosareader/index.htmlhttp://www.eikepreuss.de/glosa/glosareader/index.html and have a look on an example that runs online here (this requires a Java(tm) Plugin Version 1.4 or greater; see above page for more info): http://www.eikepreuss.de/glosa/glosareader/example/index.phphttp://www.eikepreuss.de/glosa/glosareader/example/index.php

Cheers, Eike
