Tri bibli? ***

Robin, you wrote about -em, OK. But what are -ieme and -eme? I don’t know. Please, inform me.

The suggestion of John Avis is good. It should be accepted. [quote: Another suggestion for 3) above: u tri bibli ‘u’ denotes the singular so ‘tri’ must mean ‘third’ ]

My resume: try to avoid of using the pattern ‘bibli tri’ (when ‘tri’ is AFTER ‘bibli’) in most cases.

Let’s use:

1) third book => u tri bibli, tri-em bibli

2) three books => tri de bibli (plu tri bibli ?? i’m not sure)

3) a three-book series => u seri de tri de bibli

4) book three (Book III) in a series => u tri bibli ex seri, u tri-em bibli ex seri, u bibli tri-em ex seri

Id es bibli tri ex Klara ke mi maxi hedo => Id es TRI(-em) BIBLI ex Klara ke mi maxi hedo

U presidenti pa grafo tri bibli pre an gene ge-fusili. => U presidenti pa grafo tri DE bibli pre an gene ge-fusili.

Mi prefere bibli-tri de Tolkein “Anula” seri => Mi prefere tri(-em) bibli de Tolkein “Anula” seri,
alo, - Mi prefere bibli tri-EM de Tolkein “Anula” seri

‘Tri’ should be BEFORE ‘bibli’ as a rule, otherwise an adjective (if a word is an adjective) should be with -em (bibli III (read: tri-em), bibli III-em, bibli tri-em).

Well. What you think?

Excuse me for my bad English, but I don’t understand the difference, you wrote, between ‘a third book’ and ‘the third book’., (It may be coz in slavic languages aren’t articles.) But… what this difference meens in Glosa?

Saluta, Vasiliy Terehov
